Pony Express runs a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) service to Akron, Ohio for shipments where speed matters more than cost. One courier collects your consignment anywhere in the UK, hand-carries it on the next available flight, and delivers it personally on arrival, rather than routing it through a freight network. Pricing is always by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk.

Akron's industrial base

Akron built its reputation as the historic home of the US rubber and tyre industry, and that polymer and advanced-materials expertise still underpins much of the local economy alongside a strong healthcare sector built around the Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Summa Health systems. Typical OBC movements on this route include urgent polymer or materials samples, tooling and machine parts, and time-critical medical equipment or supplies.

Getting to Akron

Akron-Canton Airport handles some domestic connections, but for international OBC work we generally route through Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, around 35 miles to the north, with your courier driving the final leg to keep the shipment under continuous personal control.

How we keep it fast

Because a single courier owns the shipment end-to-end — UK collection, export clearance, the flight itself, US customs, and final delivery — there's no handover between depots or agents, which is where conventional freight loses time.
