Pony Express Couriers

For consignments that simply have to arrive in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the next available flight, Pony Express provides a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) service: one courier, hand-carrying your shipment from collection anywhere in the UK through to final delivery in the city. Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk for an instant quote.

How on-board courier works

Rather than releasing your goods into the general freight system, we book a courier onto a passenger flight to travel with the shipment the entire way. It stays in the courier's care from UK collection to US arrival, clears customs with them in person, and is driven on to the final Albuquerque address without ever being warehoused.

Route and airport for Albuquerque

Shipments are routed via Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), usually connecting through a major East Coast gateway from the UK. Once on the ground, the courier completes final delivery by road, which typically brings total transit time in from as little as one working day door to door.

What we hand-carry to Albuquerque

Albuquerque's economy is anchored by aerospace and defence — Kirtland Air Force Base and Sandia National Laboratories are both based here — alongside a growing semiconductor and electronics sector centred on the Intel facility in nearby Rio Rancho, and oilfield equipment tied to the Permian Basin further south. We regularly hand-carry AOG parts, sensitive technical components, calibration equipment and time-critical prototypes into the city, as well as signed legal and financial paperwork.

Customs and clearance

Your courier carries full commercial invoices and handles US customs clearance personally on landing, avoiding the delays that come with unaccompanied freight sitting in a bonded facility awaiting a broker.
