Pony Express provides on-board courier (OBC) hand-carry delivery to Bamyan, the remote central Afghan province best known for its ancient Buddhist heritage, for shipments that need a dedicated courier's personal custody. Collection is available anywhere in the UK. Every job is quoted individually — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk.

Reaching central Afghanistan

Bamyan lies high in the Hindu Kush foothills in the heart of the Hazarajat region, with a small local airport whose scheduled service can be seasonal and weather-dependent. Our couriers route via Kabul, timing the final domestic leg or ground transfer around current conditions and coordinating closely with your contact.

How the hand-carry works

Your courier completes UK export formalities, travels with the shipment as accompanied baggage for the full journey, and delivers it in person to your nominated recipient in Bamyan, with proof of delivery available on request.

What we carry

Jobs here typically involve equipment parts for infrastructure and agricultural projects, legal and project documentation, medical supplies, and other cargo where certainty of custody matters given the region's remoteness.

Customs and clearance

Export paperwork is prepared before departure, and we coordinate with your local contact on import formalities and the final leg into Bamyan.
