Pony Express provides a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) service to Beni Douala, hand-carrying urgent shipments from anywhere in the UK on the next available flight. A single courier stays with your consignment door-to-door, giving you a named point of contact and a fixed arrival time rather than a standard freight transit window. Collection can be arranged at short notice, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk for an instant quote.

How on-board courier works

Once you confirm the job, we book the next suitable commercial flight and assign a courier who collects your shipment from your UK address, checks it in as accompanied baggage or cargo where required, and hand-carries it through to Algeria. The courier remains contactable throughout and can arrange onward road transfer to Beni Douala on arrival, or hand over to your local representative.

Route and nearest airport

Beni Douala sits in the Kabylie foothills of the Djurdjura range, a short drive from Tizi Ouzou. Shipments typically route via Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport, the main international gateway for northern Algeria, with a road transfer of roughly two hours on to Beni Douala; Béjaïa's Soummam-Abane Ramdane Airport can also be used depending on flight availability.

What we carry

We regularly hand-carry AOG (aircraft-on-ground) parts, time-critical legal and financial documents, medical samples and equipment, and engineering prototypes where a missed delivery window would be costly.

Customs and clearance

Our couriers travel with full commercial documentation and can support customs clearance formalities on arrival in Algeria, working with your local contact or broker to keep the shipment moving.
