Pony Express Couriers

Pony Express runs an on-board courier (OBC) service from anywhere in the UK to Canton, Ohio, home to major industrial manufacturers and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A dedicated courier hand-carries your shipment in person from UK collection through to delivery in Canton, rather than passing it between freight handlers. Pricing is arranged per job — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk for an instant quote.

How on-board courier hand-carry works

Once a job is confirmed, we assign a courier to the next available flight; they carry your shipment through security, customs and the connecting leg, and remain accountable for it door-to-door.

Route and transit to Canton

Journeys usually depart Heathrow or Manchester and connect through a hub such as Chicago or New York before landing at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK), which sits centrally between the two cities and close to Canton's industrial belt.

What we carry to Canton

Canton is a long-established centre for steel, bearings and precision manufacturing, so we frequently hand-carry urgent tooling, replacement machine parts and engineering samples for the area's plants. We also move legal and financial paperwork against tight deadlines, and time-critical medical or laboratory shipments for hospitals in the wider Stark County area.

Customs and clearance

Your courier travels with the shipment's commercial documentation and clears customs alongside it in person, which sidesteps the delays that can affect goods sitting unaccompanied in a bonded warehouse. We advise on the paperwork your specific cargo will need before you book.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can you carry industrial machine parts? Yes — this is one of the most common OBC jobs we run into Canton.
  • How is the cost worked out? Every job is quoted individually based on route, urgency and cargo size.
