Pony Express extends its on-board courier (OBC) network to Charouine, a remote Saharan oasis commune in Algeria's Adrar province, for shipments where a dedicated hand-carry courier is the only reliable option. Collection is available anywhere in the UK, with your courier travelling in person the entire route. Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk.

Reaching a remote Saharan destination

Charouine sits deep in the Gourara oasis region of the Algerian Sahara, well away from any major international gateway. Our standard routing brings the courier in via Algiers before a domestic connection toward Adrar, with the final leg to Charouine arranged in coordination with your contact on the ground — whether that's a short regional flight or a ground transfer across the desert.

How the OBC service works

Your courier clears UK export formalities, keeps the shipment in personal custody for every stage of the journey, and hands it over directly to your nominated recipient, with proof of delivery available if required.

What we carry

Shipments into remote oasis and desert locations like Charouine typically involve equipment parts for energy, water or agricultural projects, legal and project documentation, and specialist or fragile items that need a named individual accountable for them throughout.

Customs and clearance

We prepare UK export paperwork in advance and coordinate with your local contact on Algerian import and onward-transport requirements, since the final desert leg often needs its own planning.
