Pony Express runs a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) service to Dellys, the historic fishing port on the Boumerdès coast east of Algiers, for freight that genuinely cannot wait for standard air cargo. A dedicated courier collects your shipment anywhere in the UK, carries it as accompanied baggage through check-in and security, and hand-delivers it in Dellys — often door-to-door within a single day.

How our OBC service works

Rather than consigning your shipment to a general air freight network, we assign it to a courier who travels with it on the next available commercial flight, personally clearing check-in, security and customs, and handing it directly to the consignee. This removes the warehousing, consolidation and hub-transfer delays that slow ordinary freight.

Route and transit to Dellys

Most OBC movements to Dellys route via Algiers' Houari Boumediene International Airport, around 100km along the coast road to the west, with the courier completing the final leg by hire car. Departures are typically arranged from Heathrow or Gatwick, with the fastest realistic routing confirmed once your shipment is booked.

What we carry

AOG aircraft-on-ground parts, time-critical legal and financial documents, medical devices and samples, engineering prototypes, and other high-value or irreplaceable items too sensitive to trust to a general freight network.

Customs and clearance

Our courier personally manages export paperwork in the UK and import/customs formalities on arrival in Algeria, staying with the shipment throughout so nothing sits in a bonded warehouse awaiting processing.
