Pony Express provides an on-board courier (OBC) service into Des Moines, Iowa for shipments where every hour counts. A single dedicated courier collects your consignment anywhere in the UK, hand-carries it on the next suitable flight, and delivers it personally at the other end. There's no standard price list — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk for a quote based on your route and timescale.

Why businesses in Des Moines use OBC

Des Moines is one of the largest insurance and financial services centres in the United States, home to major insurers and asset managers, alongside a substantial agriculture and agtech sector serving the wider Iowa farm belt. We regularly carry time-sensitive contracts, underwriting and regulatory documents, IT hardware, and agricultural or laboratory samples on this route.

Flight routing

Des Moines International Airport provides the gateway for this service; most OBC movements connect through a major UK hub and a US connection point before arriving directly into Des Moines, with your courier completing customs clearance and final delivery in person.

How it compares to standard freight

Because one courier stays with the shipment from UK collection to US delivery, there's no consolidation, no waiting for a freight slot, and no handover to a local agent — the reasons OBC remains the fastest option when a delay isn't acceptable.
