El Marsa takes its name from the small anchorage it sits beside on the Kabylie coast of Tizi Ouzou Province, between Tigzirt and Azeffoun. When a shipment to El Marsa has to move faster than standard freight allows, Pony Express sends a dedicated on-board courier who collects anywhere in the UK and hand-carries your goods personally on the next suitable flight. Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052.

Courier custody from start to finish

Your shipment travels with one person throughout the journey — through UK collection, check-in, security and immigration — rather than being passed between freight handlers or left in a warehouse.

Route to El Marsa

Flights arrive at Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport, followed by a coastal road transfer east through Tizi Ouzou towards Tigzirt and on to El Marsa's fishing harbour.

What we hand-carry

Common shipments include urgent legal and property documents, marine and fishing equipment parts, medical items, and personal effects for UK families with roots along this coast.

Customs cleared as one journey

Commercial invoices and supporting paperwork are completed before departure and travel with the courier, so Algerian customs clearance happens on arrival rather than in a separate freight queue.
