Pony Express Couriers

Pony Express provides an on-board courier (OBC) service to El Oued, the Saharan oasis city famed for its distinctive domed architecture. A dedicated courier hand-carries your shipment from collection anywhere in the UK, staying with it personally right through to arrival. Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052.

Why an accompanied courier for the Sahara

Standard freight into Algeria's south can mean multiple handling stages and long transit times. An OBC courier instead travels with the shipment continuously, which matters when equipment or documents are needed on site without delay.

Route to El Oued

El Oued is served by Guemar Airport (ELU), reached via connecting flights through Algiers. Our couriers plan the journey to keep ground time to a minimum.

What we hand-carry

El Oued sits at the centre of an intensive date-palm growing region — famous for Deglet Nour dates — and increasingly for oil and gas exploration activity nearby. We commonly carry spare parts for irrigation and processing equipment, survey and drilling samples, and urgent documentation.

Customs and clearance

Our courier carries full commercial paperwork and coordinates with a clearing agent to keep the shipment moving through Algerian customs efficiently.
