Pony Express Couriers

Pony Express runs a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) service into Encamp, the Pyrenean parish famous for the Funicamp cable car and Grandvalira's southern slopes. Because Andorra has no airport of its own, urgent freight is hand-carried on the next available flight into Barcelona or Toulouse and then driven the final leg into the Andorran valleys by a courier who never lets the shipment out of sight. Pricing is by quote. Call 0800 288 4052 to book a courier now.

How our OBC service reaches Encamp

A dedicated courier collects from anywhere in the UK, clears security with the shipment as hand baggage, and flies the next available service to Barcelona–El Prat or Toulouse–Blagnac. From either airport it's a road transfer of around two and a half to three hours up through the Pyrenees — via La Seu d'Urgell and the CG-1 from the Spanish side, or over the Envalira tunnel from the French side — straight into Encamp, with the courier staying with the goods the entire way.

What we carry to Encamp

We regularly hand-carry AOG aircraft parts, urgent legal and financial documents, medical samples and equipment, and prototype components for the engineering and ski-lift maintenance businesses based around the resort. Every job is tracked door-to-door with full chain-of-custody paperwork.

Customs and clearance

Andorra sits outside the EU customs union, so shipments crossing from Spain or France need the correct export and import paperwork. Our courier carries commercial invoices and any permits needed and manages clearance in person at the border post, avoiding delays that unaccompanied freight can face.

Frequently asked questions

  • How fast can a courier reach Encamp? Typically same-day to next-day from the UK, door to door, once flights are confirmed.
  • Is there a direct flight to Andorra? No — Andorra has no airport, so we route via Barcelona or Toulouse and drive in.
  • Can you collect from anywhere in the UK? Yes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • What does it cost? Every OBC job is quoted individually based on route, weight and urgency — call for a quote.
