When a shipment to Hempstead, New York simply cannot wait for standard air freight, Pony Express arranges a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) who hand-carries it as accompanied baggage on the next available flight, collected from anywhere in the UK and walked through to a Long Island address door to door. Pricing is always by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk for an instant no-obligation quote.

How our on-board courier service works

A single dedicated courier travels with your consignment from UK collection to final delivery, checking it as excess baggage or carrying it in the cabin depending on size and value. The courier never lets the shipment out of sight, clears it through customs personally, and can continue by road to the final address the moment the flight lands — there is no hand-off to a third-party carrier at any stage.

Route and airport options for Hempstead

Hempstead sits in Nassau County on Long Island, within a short drive of both John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA). Our couriers typically route via JFK on a direct London–New York service, then complete the final leg into the town by road, which keeps total transit from UK collection to Hempstead delivery to as little as one working day.

What we hand-carry to Hempstead

Long Island's economy still carries its aerospace and precision-engineering heritage, so we regularly move AOG aircraft parts and defence-subcontractor components for firms in the area, alongside signed legal and financial documents for businesses with ties to Manhattan, medical samples and devices, and time-critical prototypes that a design or engineering team cannot risk on standard freight.

Customs and clearance

Your OBC courier carries full commercial documentation and manages US customs clearance in person on arrival, which is usually the single biggest time-saving over unaccompanied freight — there is no shipment sitting in a bonded warehouse waiting for a broker to act.
