When a shipment to Kabul cannot wait for standard freight, Pony Express puts a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) on the next available flight to hand-carry it in person, door to door, with the consignment never leaving the courier's sight. Collection can be arranged from anywhere in the UK, day or night, with the courier travelling as accompanied baggage or cabin freight direct to Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport (KBL). Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk for a route and time estimate.

How our on-board courier service to Kabul works

Once you confirm the job, we assign a courier who collects your shipment, clears it through UK export formalities, and travels with it as excess baggage or hand luggage on the fastest routing available — typically via a Gulf or European hub where direct UK–Kabul services don't operate. The courier stays with the goods throughout, hands them to your nominated recipient in Kabul, and can carry a signed proof-of-delivery back if required.

Typical routing and transit times

Because there is no scheduled non-stop UK–Kabul service, journeys are usually built around a connection through Dubai, Doha or Istanbul, landing into KBL on the edge of the city. Total door-to-door times vary with flight availability and visa lead time for the courier, and we'll always give you a realistic estimate before booking rather than an optimistic one.

What we carry

Common Kabul OBC jobs include AOG aircraft parts, embassy and NGO documents, medical samples and equipment, engineering prototypes, and other high-value or time-critical cargo that a client needs to track in person rather than trust to a routine air waybill.

Customs and clearance

Our couriers prepare export paperwork in advance and liaise with your Kabul-side contact on import formalities, so nothing sits waiting at the airport once it lands.
