Pony Express runs a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) service to Kandahar for shipments too urgent or too sensitive to hand over to standard freight. A courier collects from anywhere in the UK, travels with your goods as hand luggage or accompanied cargo, and delivers them in person at the other end. Pricing is quoted per job — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk to discuss your route.

Route into southern Afghanistan

Kandahar International Airport (KDH) serves the city and the wider south, close to the Pakistan border crossings at Spin Boldak and Chaman. With no direct UK service, our couriers typically route through a Gulf hub, keeping the consignment in hand at every transfer rather than checking it through unaccompanied.

How the hand-carry process works

Your courier collects the shipment, completes UK export documentation, and stays with it for the full journey, handing it directly to your named contact in Kandahar and returning a signed proof of delivery on request.

What typically travels this way

Kandahar jobs often involve aircraft-on-ground (AOG) parts for operators working in the region, legal and financial documents, medical consignments, and prototype or engineering samples that a client wants tracked in person rather than left to a routine airway bill.

Customs and clearance

We prepare export paperwork ahead of departure and coordinate with your local contact on import requirements, so the shipment moves straight from the courier's hands to yours without sitting in a queue.
