For shipments into Mecheria that are too urgent for ordinary freight, Pony Express provides a dedicated on-board courier who flies with your consignment and hands it over in person. Collection is available anywhere in the UK, any time. Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk.

What on-board courier means

Rather than booking your shipment as cargo, we book a seat for a courier and the goods travel as accompanied baggage. The courier clears check-in, security and customs personally, so nothing is delayed waiting in a freight queue.

Reaching Mecheria

Mecheria is a high-plateau town in Naâma province, western Algeria, traditionally a centre for the sheep and wool trade and close to the route toward the Moroccan border. Our couriers typically route through Oran's Ahmed Ben Bella Airport before completing the final leg to Mecheria by road, so plan on a same-day-to-next-day delivery from UK collection.

What we carry

• AOG and vehicle parts
• Legal and financial documents
• Medical samples and equipment
• Prototypes and engineering components
• Textile and wool-trade samples

Customs and clearance

We pre-prepare invoices and any required licences, and our courier deals with Algerian customs face to face, resolving any query without the shipment being held in a warehouse.
