Pony Express operates an on-board courier (OBC) service to Mekla, a commune in the heart of the Kabylie highlands in Tizi Ouzou province. When freight is too urgent to risk on standard air cargo, our courier collects it anywhere in the UK and personally hand-carries it the entire way to Mekla.

How OBC hand-carry works

Your consignment travels as accompanied baggage with a single named courier, who checks it in, clears security and customs personally, and hands it over directly — removing the hub transfers and storage delays of general freight.

Route and transit to Mekla

Flights route through Algiers' Houari Boumediene International Airport before the courier drives east into the Kabylie highlands via Tizi Ouzou to reach Mekla.

What we carry

AOG parts, urgent legal and financial paperwork, medical samples and equipment, prototypes, and other high-value or irreplaceable cargo that needs one accountable courier throughout.

Customs and clearance

Our courier manages UK export documentation and Algerian import clearance in person, keeping the consignment with them so nothing is left waiting unattended.
