For urgent shipments to Përmet, on the Vjosë river in southern Albania, Pony Express offers an on-board courier (OBC) service — a dedicated courier hand-carries your consignment from anywhere in the UK to delivery in the town known locally as the "City of Roses". Pricing is by quote. Call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk.

How OBC delivery works

Your courier books onto the next available flight, carries the shipment as accompanying baggage, and stays with it in person the whole way, including the final road transfer, until it's handed over in Përmet.

Reaching Përmet

Përmet lies in Gjirokastër County near the Greek border crossing at Kakavijë. We typically route through Tirana International Airport or, depending on flight availability, via a Greek hub such as Ioannina, with the final leg completed by road along the Vjosë valley.

What we carry to Përmet

• Documents for legal and financial transactions
• Wine and food-export samples — Përmet is known for its raki and local produce
• Medical supplies
• Prototypes and engineering parts
• High-value or irreplaceable items

Customs and clearance

The courier carries full commercial documentation and personally clears the shipment through Albanian customs, so nothing is left unattended at a border crossing.

Why Pony Express

Three decades of urgent courier experience, round-the-clock booking, goods-in-transit insurance as standard, and one courier from UK doorstep to Përmet doorstep.
