For shipments into Portland, Oregon that simply can't wait, Pony Express offers a dedicated onboard courier (OBC) service — a courier hand-carries your goods on the next available flight from the UK, with nationwide collection. Pricing is by quote — call 0800 288 4052 for an instant quote.

What makes onboard courier different

Your shipment travels with one dedicated courier from the moment it's collected until it's placed directly in your recipient's hands — no warehousing, no consolidation with other freight, and full visibility throughout.

The route to Portland

Portland International Airport (PDX) sits on the Columbia River a few miles from downtown, reachable via one-stop connections from UK departure points. We check live seat and freight capacity as soon as you call, aiming to have a courier in the air within hours.

Who we move goods for in Portland

Portland's economy — often called the "Silicon Forest" — is anchored by semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, with Intel's major campuses in the surrounding suburbs, alongside a large outdoor apparel and footwear sector including Nike's headquarters nearby in Beaverton. We hand-carry urgent components, prototypes, samples and documents for both.

Customs clearance

We prepare full export documentation before departure so your shipment moves through US Customs as accompanied baggage on landing, rather than sitting in a general freight queue.
