Pony Express Couriers

Pony Express provides an on-board courier (OBC) hand-carry service to Rockford, Illinois, home to one of the busiest cargo airports in North America. A dedicated courier collects your shipment anywhere in the UK and flies with it as accompanied baggage into Chicago O'Hare (ORD) or directly into Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD), roughly 75 minutes west of Chicago via I-90 and I-39. Pricing is by quote. Call 0800 288 4052, 24/7/365.

How on-board courier delivery works

Your consignment stays with a single dedicated courier from UK collection through to Rockford delivery, so there's no consolidation, no warehousing, and a fixed rather than estimated arrival time.

Route to Rockford

Rockford's own airport (RFD) is a major UPS air freight hub, well connected by road and occasional cargo charter, while O'Hare remains the most reliable option for scheduled UK passenger connections, with our team choosing the faster route on the day.

What we carry

Aerospace and precision-tooling components for Rockford's large advanced manufacturing sector (long known as a centre for aviation parts production), AOG shipments, legal and financial documents, and medical or laboratory samples that cannot wait for standard freight.

Customs and clearance

Our courier prepares UK export paperwork and manages US customs clearance on arrival, including commercial invoices and any required permits, keeping the shipment moving.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can a courier depart? Usually within a few hours of confirmed booking. Do you collect UK-wide? Yes. Can you carry aerospace and tooling components? Yes, this is one of our most frequent Rockford job types. What's the cost? Every job is quoted individually — call 0800 288 4052.
