When a shipment to Scranton, Pennsylvania simply cannot wait for standard freight, Pony Express deploys a dedicated on-board courier (OBC) who hand-carries your consignment as accompanied baggage on the next available flight out of the UK. Collection can be arranged from anywhere in the UK, day or night, with the courier staying with the shipment door-to-door through to Scranton. Call 0800 288 4052 for a route and timing quote — pricing is always by quote.

How our on-board courier service works

Once you call, we identify the fastest routing into the Scranton area — typically via a transatlantic connection through a major US gateway such as Philadelphia or New York JFK, then on to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre International Airport (AVP) or by dedicated road relay from the connecting hub. A single courier travels with your shipment for the entire journey, so it never leaves their sight, is never consolidated with other cargo, and clears as accompanied baggage rather than freight.

Route and transit to Scranton

Scranton sits in Lackawanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania, within reach of the Pocono Mountains and around two hours from both Philadelphia and New York City by road. Depending on flight availability, our courier will land at a major East Coast gateway and complete the final leg to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre International Airport or by road, keeping total transit time to a minimum from the moment of UK collection.

What we hand-carry to Scranton

• AOG aircraft parts and engineering components
• Legal documents, contracts and financial instruments with signing deadlines
• Medical samples, devices and pharmaceuticals
• Prototypes, tooling and engineering samples for manufacturing sites

Customs and clearance

Our courier carries all commercial documentation, invoices and any export licences required, and manages customs clearance into the United States personally, so your shipment moves straight from the aircraft into your recipient's hands in Scranton rather than sitting in a bonded warehouse.
