When a shipment to Thenia simply cannot wait for standard freight, Pony Express runs an on-board courier (OBC) service that puts a dedicated courier on the next available flight out of the UK, with your goods hand-carried the entire way. There's no palletising, no consolidation and no waiting for a container to fill — just a courier, your shipment, and a fixed departure. Pricing is by quote: call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk.

Why choose a hand-carry courier

An OBC courier travels with your shipment as accompanied baggage or excess cargo, meaning it never sits in a warehouse or gets re-routed with bulk freight. You get one point of contact from UK collection through to arrival, and real-time updates at every stage.

Getting to Thenia

Thenia lies in Boumerdès Province, just off the RN5 and RN12 roughly 45km east of Algiers, in the fertile Isser valley. Most OBC shipments route through Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport, which is close enough to Thenia that road transfer typically adds well under an hour to the journey.

Typical shipments

We're regularly asked to hand-carry AOG aircraft parts, signed contracts and legal papers, medical consignments, and pre-production samples for manufacturers who need eyes on a part before a production run continues.

Customs on arrival

Our courier carries full commercial invoices and supporting paperwork and can liaise directly with a broker or your Algerian contact to keep clearance moving quickly once the flight lands.
