For shipments to Tizi-n-Bechar that cannot go by standard freight, Pony Express offers an on-board courier (OBC) service: a dedicated courier hand-carries your consignment from collection anywhere in the UK through to arrival in Algeria on the next suitable flight. Pricing is always by quote — call 0800 288 4052 or email sales@ponyexpress.co.uk for a fast, no-obligation price.

How the service works

Rather than booking space on a freight consolidation, we assign a courier to your job specifically. They collect from your UK address, travel on the next available commercial flight, and remain personally responsible for the shipment until it's handed over in Algeria — ideal when a delay simply isn't an option.

Reaching the Kabylie highlands

Tizi-n-Bechar sits in Algeria's mountainous Kabylie interior. Shipments are typically flown into Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport, Algeria's principal international gateway, with the final leg completed by road into the highlands; Béjaïa's Soummam-Abane Ramdane Airport is used as an alternative when it shortens the route.

What we hand-carry

Typical jobs include AOG parts, urgent legal and banking documents, medical items, and engineering samples — anything where the cost of a delay outweighs the cost of a dedicated courier.

Customs and clearance

Full commercial documentation travels with the courier, and we work with your nominated contact or clearing agent in Algeria to keep the shipment moving through customs without unnecessary delay.
