For shipments to Tlemcen that cannot wait for standard freight, Pony Express provides an on-board courier (OBC) service — a dedicated courier collects anywhere in the UK, hand-carries the consignment as accompanied baggage, and stays with it until it's handed over in western Algeria. Pricing is by quote: call 0800 288 4052.

An accompanied, door-to-door service

Rather than being consolidated with other freight, your shipment travels with a courier at every stage — check-in, security, the flight itself, and arrival formalities — cutting out the handling delays that slow conventional cargo.

Reaching Tlemcen

Tlemcen, close to the Moroccan border in Algeria's far west, has its own Zenata Airport (TLM) served by connections via France and Algiers. Where scheduling favours it, our courier routes through Algiers' Houari Boumediene Airport and completes the final leg by road.

What moves on this route

Tlemcen's economy centres on textiles, leather goods and traditional handicrafts, plus olive and agricultural production from the surrounding plains. We commonly carry sample garments and materials, machine parts for textile mills, legal documents and academic materials for the city's university.

Clearing customs

Full commercial documentation travels with the courier, who coordinates with a clearing agent at the border to keep the shipment moving through Algerian import formalities.
